  • Candidates must currently reside within 45 miles of Jersey City, NJ.

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience required.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform Networking, Python, Terraform, and Network Engineering.

Role Summary

The Google Cloud Platform Cloud Network Engineer will design, implement, and support secure, scalable Google Cloud networking solutions for onboarded applications. The role focuses heavily on Google Cloud Platform networking architecture, landing zones, VPC/Shared VPC design, hybrid connectivity, firewall architecture, network segmentation, and Terraform-based infrastructure automation.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of Google Cloud networking and be comfortable explaining architectural decisions, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and delivering infrastructure changes safely through Terraform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate Google Cloud Platform VPC and Shared VPC environments, including subnets, routes, firewall policies, DNS, and network segmentation.
  • Design and implement secure ingress and egress architectures, including Cloud NAT, load balancing, private access, and controlled internet connectivity.
  • Develop and support Google Cloud Platform landing zones and enterprise cloud networking patterns.
  • Design and implement hub-and-spoke network architectures in Google Cloud.
  • Support hybrid connectivity using Cloud VPN and Cloud Interconnect.
  • Configure and troubleshoot routing, including BGP concepts and hybrid network routing.
  • Design and maintain secure firewall architectures and policies.
  • Manage networking across multiple environments, including Dev, QA, and Production.
  • Implement network infrastructure using Terraform, with an emphasis on reusable modules and safe deployments.
  • Assess infrastructure changes for blast radius, dependencies, and production impact.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and network issues using logs, flow data, monitoring, and systematic triage.
  • Extend and manage IP ranges within Google Cloud Platform VPC environments as required.
  • Collaborate with application, cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to onboard applications securely.
  • Support staged rollouts and ensure network changes are implemented with minimal disruption.

Mandatory Skills

  • 5+ years of relevant Cloud/Network Engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) networking experience.
  • Strong understanding of VPC and Shared VPC architecture.
