Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this role, you will empower individuals to live as independently as possible while promoting dignity, respect, and community inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support based on each individual's personalized service plan.

  • Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and medication reminders or administration (as permitted).

  • Encourage independence by teaching and reinforcing daily living, communication, and social skills.

  • Accompany individuals to medical appointments, recreational activities, community outings, and other scheduled events.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, progress, incidents, and health-related information.

  • Monitor and report changes in behavior, health, or emotional well-being.

  • Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment.

  • Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and other members of the support team.

  • Follow all agency policies, state regulations, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (if applicable).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as needed.

Preferred

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

  • Experience with medication administration.
