Job description

Description:

The Driver is responsible for providing safe and timely transportation for school age children from 3 local schools to The J. The Driver will use a company-provided 25 passenger bus.


Schedule: Part-Time, Mon - Friday from 2:30pm to 4:30pm during the school year, mid August through May.

Responsibilities

  • Transport school age children from 3 local elementary schools to The J
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers upon pick-up and drop-off
  • Maintain compliance with state regulations regarding the lawful operation of a motor vehicle
  • Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles, inside and out
  • Monitor service schedules for vehicles and inform supervisor when service is needed
  • Monitor fuel levels of company vehicles, purchase fuel as needed and follow all policies for using company purchase card
Requirements:
  • Current, valid CDL Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Age 21 or over
  • At least 3 years of experience safely operating a commercial vehicle
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations within the past three years
  • Knowledge of traffic rules and regulations for the State of Kansas
  • Must be able to safely operate company vehicles in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work with children and provide excellent customer service with kindness, patience and concerns for safety at all times

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires travel outdoors in company vehicle, therefore tolerance to extremes of heat and cold weather is necessary.
  • Position requires occasional bending, squatting, sitting, standing, pulling, pushing, lifting, and moving items that may weigh up to 25 lbs.
