Job description

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.

Berklee's Caf Shows are concerts by Berklee or BoCo student bands that take place in the Berklee Cafeteria, Tuesday through Sunday evening from 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm. If you're excited to bring fresh ideas and innovation to our team, we encourage you to apply.
Position Overview
Caf Shows are nightly performances held from 10:00-11:00 PM, Tuesday through Sunday, during fall and spring semester. These shows predominantly showcase original music, including artist sets, band sets, open mics, and themed nights. The Marketing Assistant supports the planning and execution of marketing initiatives by creating engaging visual content, managing social media communication, and promoting events and programming. This includes designing promotional graphics for our social media, capturing high-quality photos, and contributing to innovative marketing strategies.
As part of the marketing team, you will contribute to one of Berklee's most valued traditions, gain networking opportunities, and connect with the school community.
Hours:
  • Total: up to 12 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Capture high-quality photos during shows, events, and promotional activities.
  • Design promotional materials including digital flyers, graphics, and social media content.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop innovative marketing strategies.
  • Capture high-quality photos with a DSLR camera for two shows each week.
  • Select and prepare photos for editing and posting on social media.
  • Participate in the show selection process.
  • Attend weekly one-hour marketing meetings.
  • Participate in required training sessions at the start of the semester.

Required Skills:
  • Strong photography and photo composition skills.
  • Experience using Canva for graphic design and social media content creation
  • Proficiency in Lightroom or Adobe Photoshop for photo editing and retouching.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content scheduling.
  • Photography skills using a DSLR or mirrorless camera.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to punctuality and meeting deadlines.
  • Pro Music with Business track or Music Business major PREFERRED, but not required.
