Job description

Shoreline Dental Chicago is a privately-owned, fee-for-service boutique dental practice in the heart of downtown Chicago. We’re dedicated to exceptional patient care and a warm, professional team culture. We’re hiring a Dental Assistant to join our clinical team — at Shoreline, our assistants do more than assist: they guide patients through their visit from seating to checkout hand-off.

Position: Full-Time, W2 employee — approximately 32–36 hours per week

Schedule: Evening and weekend availability is non-negotiable — this role works two evening shifts per week and two Saturdays per month. Our patients prefer to be seen before work, after work, and on weekends, and our schedule reflects that. Please only apply if these hours work for you.

Compensation: $20–25/hour depending on experience, plus monthly team-based incentives

Location: Downtown Chicago — Streeterville, walking distance to the Red Line, Brown Line, and multiple bus routes, just steps from Northwestern. Paid parking available in the building.

Who You Are

  • Experienced chairside assistant — 1+ year in a dental office preferred
  • Warm and reassuring with patients, especially anxious ones
  • You anticipate the doctor’s needs — instruments ready before they’re asked for
  • Meticulous about room turnover, sterilization, and keeping treatment rooms immaculate
  • Organized with documentation and follow-through — lab cases never slip past you
  • A team player who communicates clearly and takes feedback well
  • Coronal polishing certification, assisted hygiene experience, iTero scanning, or CareStack experience are a plus

What You Will Do

  • Seat patients, review and update health histories, and confirm the day’s planned treatment
  • Assist chairside across general, cosmetic, and surgical procedures
  • Take digital X-rays and intraoral scans
  • Fabricate provisionals and support Invisalign and whitening deliveries
  • Organize and track lab cases from impression to delivery
  • Turn over, stock, and sterilize treatment rooms to keep the day running on time

Our Team and Technology

You’ll join a team of four fellow assistants supporting general dentists and an in-house periodontist, alongside three hygienists and a dedicated front-desk team. The office has 8 operatories with digital X-rays, iTero scanners, CBCT, and an in-house 3D printer.

What We Offer

  • $20–25/hour depending on experience
  • Monthly team-based incentives
  • A defined advancement path — Dental Assistant I → II → III, with paid certification support (coronal polishing, sealants, expanded functions) at each level
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • 401(k) with employer match up to 4% (eligible after 90 days)
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) (eligible after 90 days)
  • Uniforms provided (Figs scrubs)
  • 6 weeks paid maternity leave (eligible after 1 year)
  • Supportive, collaborative team in a beautiful downtown office
