Great American Tire & Auto is a family operated full-service repair facility serving northeastern Illinois since 1999, and southeastern Wisconsin since 2021! 

Yes, we are a family business; but we are not just a two-bay garage off of a main road. We have an established presence in both of our respected communities allowing for constant workflow and upbeat experiences. 

Our Lindenhurst, IL facility includes ten service bays that see roughly 500-600 cars a month, plenty of room for more toolboxes, and the necessary materials to welcome a new member to our team! 

We are looking for a technician to join our operations  in Lindenhurst, IL. We service domestic, import, and European vehicles; taking pride in delivering honesty, quality workmanship, and first-class customer service.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a motivated automotive technician with professional shop experience wanting to continue developing their skills and grow with our team.

What You'll Do

  • Repair engines, suspension, steering, brakes, HVAC, and driveline systems
  • Complete maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations and customer requests
  • Perform inspections and accurately document repair recommendations
  • Maintain efficiency while producing high-quality work
  • Consult needs and your unique expertise with the team to ensure efficient operations
  • Remember, you are at the heart of a vehicle’s service process; we value our technicians here as the individuals that can be accredited for greatness! 


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, etc...) 
  • 3+ years of professional automotive repair experience 
  • Certifications preferred, but not required
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance 
  • Legible penmanship and literacy 
  • Positive attitude and work ethic
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in varying shop conditions throughout the day
  • Ability to operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions
