Job description

Summary: The Software Engineer is responsible for working on projects that are currently being visualized or developed by our organization. This role will be involved with the Software Development Life Cycle methodology and framework, directing software system validation and testing methods, as well as directing software programming initiatives. This position works closely with clients and crossโ€‘functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals. This role is specific to ETL Development.

Key skills and knowledge:

  • Programming languages: XML, JavaScript, SQL
  • Developer tools: Git, Azure DevOps, CDIPC โ€“ Cloud Data Integration for PowerCenter
  • ETL Process Development: Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter or other relevant Informatica tools.
  • SQL Proficiency: Utilize SQL/PLSQL to extract, transform, and load data. Exposure to advanced transformations such as parsing JSON/XML messages.
Accountabilities

  • Develop code, analyze, research, and resolve associated system issues.

Minimum Qualifications

All levels (common base qualifications):

  • Associateโ€™s degree in computer science, information technology or related field or three (3) years of experience in lieu of a degree (Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of at least one programming language such as C#, .NET, Java, SQL, C++, Python, Visual Basic, or JavaScript.
  • Basic understanding of one tool or platform such as Informatica, CI/CD, Pega, Power BI, or Cognos.
  • Basic knowledge of at least one operating system such as Unixโ€‘based or Windows.
  • Basic database experience.
  • Basic understanding of software testing and quality.
  • Demonstrated basic ability to communicate and partner with team members and direct leadership to understand user stories and identify application and system impacts.
  • Demonstrated advanced problemโ€‘solving skills.
  • Demonstrated basic ability to implement security architecture principles and best practices aligning with the organizationโ€™s business and strategy.
  • Basic technical knowledge of authentication, authorization, applied cryptography, data masking, encryption, security vulnerabilities, and remediation.
  • Basic understanding of OpenAPI Specification (OAS) and OWASP vulnerabilities and risks.

LevelII (in addition to LevelI qualifications):

  • Intermediate knowledge of at least one programming language.
  • Intermediate experience with one tool or platform.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work prolonged periods sitting or standing at a workstation and working on a computer.
  • Ability to work while sitting or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse, or phone for three or more hours at a time.
  • Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or trainings as needed.
  • Ability to work in a home office for continuous periods of time for business continuity.

The salary range indicated represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on budget, experience, knowledge, skill, education, and internal equity. The posted salary range is one component of our total rewards package, which may also include group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time off, and paid holidays.
