Associate Consultant for Humanitarian Action Unit

Do you want to integrate a dynamic company and make an impact through your work?

We are looking for a mid-level Associate Consultant to join our Humanitarian Action Department, starting March 2026.

This freelance position is project-based and working hours will vary.

Position summary

Your future responsibilities:

  • Participate in evaluations of programs, interventions, policies and strategies in the humanitarian space
  • Evaluation design, ensuring methodological rigor, relevance, and quality
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection activities
  • Analyse evaluation findings and formulate actionable recommendations
  • Provide technical guidance and support to evaluation teams in diverse humanitarian contexts
  • Proposal writing for evaluations and M&E projects
Candidate profile

Requirements:

  • Masterโ€™s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in evaluation, M&E; experience in research may also be considered.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C1).
  • Fully proficient in MS Office (especially Word, Outlook and Excel).
  • Proactive, rigorous and detail oriented.
  • High analytical capacity.
  • Good stress-resistance to handle challenges and deadlines.
  • Good organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Team worker with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working at an (inter)national organisation in the development or humanitarian sector.

Further assets are:

  • Fluency in other languages, notably French, Spanish, and Arabic.
  • Experience with humanitarian operations.
  • Experience using quantitative analysis software (e.g., Stata, Rโ€ฆ), qualitative analysis software (e.g., MAXQDA, Nvivoโ€ฆ).
  • Knowledge of different evaluation methodologies.
