Job description

Terminal Manager – Transloading Operations

Location: Indianapolis, IN
Starting Salary: $72,000 annually, negotiable based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time

Lead from the Front

Road & Rail Services is hiring a hands-on Terminal Manager to oversee daily transloading operations at our Indianapolis terminal.

This is not a strictly desk-based role. The Terminal Manager will work closely with the team while overseeing the safe and efficient transfer of ethanol, plastic pellets, food-grade products, and other commodities between railcars and trucks.

The right candidate will be comfortable leading employees, making operational decisions, working outdoors, and stepping in to support the crew when needed.

What You'll Do

You will manage daily terminal operations, supervise and develop employees, maintain customer service standards, and ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently.

You will also monitor productivity and expenses, support P&L goals, maintain required documentation, and ensure compliance with company, customer, OSHA, EPA, FRA, and DOT requirements.

What We're Looking For

Candidates should have at least two years of management experience with responsibility for budgets, expenses, or P&L performance.

Experience in logistics, transportation, manufacturing, warehousing, terminal operations, rail, transloading, or another industrial setting is preferred.

You should also have strong leadership and communication skills, a practical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work outdoors, climb railcars, and assist with physical operational duties when needed.

What We Offer

• Starting salary of $72,000, negotiable based on experience
• Medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits with company matching
• Paid holidays, vacation, safety bonus opportunities, and advancement potential
