Job description


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail oriented Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team. This role requires strong industry knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to manage the full estimating process from bid review through proposal submission ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with company goals. The Estimating Manager will collaborate closely with project management, operations, and executive leadership to secure profitable projects and maintain strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the estimating team.
  • Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and client requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Develop takeoffs, labor hour forecasts, and material pricing for custom millwork, casework, and specialty woodworking projects.
  • Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure competitive and accurate pricing.
  • Oversee bid schedules, proposal submissions, and follow up communications.
  • Conduct risk analysis and identify opportunities to optimize project costs.
  • Partner with project managers and operations to ensure seamless project handoff and alignment on budgets.
  • Maintain and improve estimating systems, databases, and historical cost records.
  • Provide executive leadership with reporting on bid activity, win/loss ratios, and departmental performance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in estimating within architectural woodwork, millwork, or construction-related industries.
  • Strong understanding of materials, fabrication processes, labor allocation, and project costing in millwork manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Excel, Procore, or similar).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
