Goals & Responsibilities

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Support field inspections of sewer, water, and paving construction projects to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Use of measuring equipment to verify materials, line, and grade accuracy
  • Maintain accurate records and update project documentation utilizing electronic reporting software
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and municipal staff to maintain project schedules
  • Respond to public inquiries and assist in addressing construction-related questions or concerns.
  • Work outdoors on real-world infrastructure projects that strengthen communities
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate professionally with diverse project teams
  • Apply academic knowledge to practical engineering challenges
  • Assist with field and office tasks as needed

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:

  • Actively pursuing a degree in civil engineering or a related field

  • Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Ability to communicate professionally to build positive relationships with project teams, contractors, clients and the public

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
