Job description

Location: OC Automotive Resources Corporate Office

Department: Operations / Estimating

Reports To: Director of Estimating

Position Summary

The Estimator Review Specialist is responsible for reviewing, validating, and optimizing collision repair estimates written by front-line estimators across multiple body shop locations within OC Automotive Resources. This role ensures estimates are accurate, complete, and compliant with OEM repair procedures, insurance requirements, and internal organizational standards prior to customer presentation or insurer submission.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review collision repair estimates for accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all OC Automotive Resource locations
  • Ensure estimates reflect proper repair methodology, OEM procedures, and safety standards
  • Verify labor operations, parts selection, pricing, sublet charges, and repair vs. replace decisions
  • Identify missed damage, improper line entries, or deviations from best practices
  • Confirm estimates align with insurance carrier guidelines while protecting repair integrity
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to estimators to improve estimate quality and cycle time
  • Collaborate with production, supplements, and management teams to reduce rework and delays
  • Assist in standardizing estimating practices across the organization
  • Support audit processes, DRP compliance, and internal quality control initiatives
  • Stay current with OEM repair procedures, estimating system updates, and industry trends and take additional training as requested

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of hands-on collision repair estimating experience in a body shop environment
  • Strong proficiency in CCC, Mitchell, and/or other popular estimating systems
  • In-depth knowledge of OEM repair procedures and collision repair best practices
  • Solid understanding of insurance claim processes and DRP expectations
  • Proven ability to identify missed damage and estimate inaccuracies
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coach and mentor estimators
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-location environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a multi-shop organization (MSO) or with a major automotive insurance carrier
  • I-CAR Platinum or equivalent industry certifications
  • Previous quality control, audit, or estimating leadership experience
