Both esthetician roles require licensing and specialized certifications. Microneedling focuses on skin regeneration through controlled skin injury, often in medical or clinical settings. Chemical peels involve applying chemical solutions to exfoliate and improve skin texture, typically in beauty salons or skincare clinics. While both treatments aim to enhance skin appearance, they use different techniques and are suited for different skin concerns.

What are some common challenges estheticians face when performing microneedling treatments, and how can they be addressed?

Estheticians performing microneedling often face challenges such as managing client discomfort, ensuring strict hygiene to prevent infection, and customizing treatments for diverse skin types. To address these, it's important to use high-quality, sterile equipment, maintain clear communication with clients about aftercare, and stay updated on best practices through continuing education. Additionally, working in a supportive team environment allows estheticians to share tips and troubleshoot challenging cases, ultimately enhancing results and client satisfaction.

What are estheticians who perform microneedling?

Estheticians who perform microneedling are licensed skincare professionals trained to use specialized devices that create tiny punctures in the skin’s surface. This process, known as microneedling or collagen induction therapy, promotes the production of collagen and elastin, improving skin texture and reducing the appearance of scars, wrinkles, and large pores. Not all estheticians are authorized to perform microneedling; regulations and required certifications vary by state. It’s important to verify that your esthetician is properly trained and licensed in microneedling procedures in your area.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Esthetician specializing in Microneedling, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Esthetician specializing in Microneedling, you need a solid understanding of skin biology, advanced skincare techniques, and a state-issued esthetician license, often with additional certification in microneedling. Familiarity with microneedling devices, sterilization protocols, and skincare product ingredients is essential. Exceptional communication, attention to detail, and a strong sense of empathy help build client trust and ensure individualized care. These skills and qualities are important to deliver safe, effective treatments and maintain a loyal client base in a results-driven industry.

Job description

Established medical spa seeking a sales-oriented master aesthetician. We are willing to train on the clinical side but we need someone with sales experience that is comfortable asking for money. Asking for money is a learned skill and it’s a prerequisite in our industry. That being said, we do not advocate for pushy sales people, rather consultative conversational selling. If you do a good job educating and asking questions, the sales come on their own, and when they do, you have to be comfortable asking for the money. We have a small team, so your contributions are definitely noticed. Candidate must have a positive “can-do” attitude, be dependable, able to solve problems, and willing to do whatever’s necessary to give our clients the best experience possible.
Successful applicants will highlight on-the-job treatment experience and sales skills. Real-world job experience performing laser treatments like IPL, laser hair removal, or RF Microneedling are a huge plus, but again, must be able to get people excited about our services because rebooking clients is one of the major job requirements. Be positive, ask tons of questions, listen to the answers, and educate people on our services.
Master Aesthetician License is required.

Owners reward hard-work and are generous, but all candidates are paid a training wage until ability is demonstrated.
  • Great Tips! (It’s not uncommon to see $50-$100 tips on a treatment).
  • 10% Commission Product Sales.
  • Monthly Store Bonus.
  • Free Services!
  • Great Team Dynamic.
  • Training Opportunities.
  • Team Building Events.
