An Estes Express Line Haul job involves driving trucks over long distances to transport freight between terminals or distribution centers. Drivers typically operate over fixed routes, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries while following safety regulations. This role often involves overnight travel and may require handling freight as needed. Estes Express offers competitive pay, benefits, and home time depending on the route and schedule.
To excel as an Estes Express Line Haul driver, you need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), a strong driving record, and experience with long-haul or regional trucking routes. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation systems, and understanding Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations are crucial. Outstanding time management, reliability, and effective communication skills help drivers maintain schedules and coordinate with dispatchers and dock personnel. These abilities ensure the safe, efficient, and timely transport of freight, supporting both operational success and customer satisfaction.
Estes Express Line Haul drivers usually operate on set regional or long-distance routes that may involve overnight travel and multiple consecutive days on the road. Schedules often vary depending on freight volume and lane assignments, but most routes are structured in a way that maximizes home time and work-life balance. Drivers work closely with dispatch teams to receive assignments and updates, and are responsible for maintaining timely arrivals and departures at terminals. While the work can involve early mornings or late nights, safe driving and adherence to hours-of-service regulations are always a priority. Many drivers appreciate the consistency of dedicated lanes and the ability to build relationships within their local and regional teams.
