Job description

SUMMARY:

Our client, a growing Am Law 200 law firm, is seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney to join its expanding practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated estate planning, administration, and related litigation matters for individuals, families, and business owners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Draft and implement customized estate plans for individuals, families, and business owners

- Handle wealth preservation, trust and estate administration, and related real estate matters

- Advise on premarital and post marital agreements

- Represent beneficiaries, executors, and trustees in estate and trust disputes, including:

- Breach of fiduciary duty claims

- Will contests and validity challenges

- Elective share claims by surviving spouses

- Enforcement of premarital and post marital agreements

- Collaborate with fiduciary litigation team on defense and prosecution of claims

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Admission to the Virginia Bar (or eligibility for immediate admission)

- 7+ years of experience in trusts & estates planning and/or estate litigation preferred

- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills

- Interest in building a long-term trusts & estates practice
