Join Audix – Precision Manufacturing for Professional Audio

At Audix, we design and manufacture professional audio products trusted by musicians, engineers, broadcasters, production professionals, and content creators around the world.

We are looking for an experienced Machinist I to join our Operations team in Wilsonville, Oregon. This is a hands-on CNC machining position for someone who takes pride in precision, quality, and craftsmanship.

In this role, you will program, set up, edit, and operate CNC equipment to manufacture high-quality precision components. You will work from blueprints, engineering specifications, and production requirements while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

What You’ll Do
  • Set up, program, edit, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining equipment.

  • Review work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, machining parameters, and GD&T requirements.

  • Program CNC equipment using CAM software such as Esprit and Mastercam.

  • Establish zero and reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensation, and other machine parameters.

  • Calculate machining requirements using mathematics, geometry, and basic trigonometry.

  • Set up and operate Mori Seiki multi-axis turning centers with dual spindles and live tooling.

  • Set up and operate Citizen Swiss turning centers with dual spindles and live tooling.

  • Set up and operate vertical machining centers with Fanuc controls.

  • Install and adjust tooling, chucks, collets, bushings, attachments, stops, and stock pushers.

  • Verify machine settings and inspect first-run and production parts to ensure they meet specifications.

  • Perform precision machining operations including turning, facing, drilling, grooving, knurling, and threading.

  • Monitor machining operations and identify potential quality or equipment issues.

  • Troubleshoot machining processes and make necessary adjustments to programs, tooling, and machine controls.

  • Replace or sharpen worn tools as needed.

  • Perform inspections using precision measuring equipment to verify part conformity.

  • Maintain production and quality records.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and assist with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.

  • Set up and operate supporting equipment such as band saws, drill presses, OD/ID grinders, and surface grinders.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and applicable OSHA regulations.

  • Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to support production goals.

  • Take ownership of new assignments and identify opportunities to improve machining processes, quality, and efficiency.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking ForRequired Experience & Skills
  • Approximately 5 years of related machining experience, including CNC machining, tooling, production processes, and quality control.

  • Strong CNC machine setup, programming, editing, and operating experience.

  • Experience machining small precision parts to tight tolerances.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, engineering specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and its application to CNC lathes and mills.

  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machining equipment.

  • Ability to use precision measurement gauges and inspection equipment.

  • Strong mathematical skills with the ability to apply geometry and basic trigonometry to machining applications.

  • Ability to troubleshoot machining processes, tooling, machine setups, and part-quality issues.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable using computer-based tools for production records, documentation, and data entry.

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is highly desirable:

  • Mori Seiki multi-axis turning centers

Education
  • Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Machine Technology, or a related discipline; or

  • Successful completion of a related apprenticeship program.

An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and professional machining experience may also be considered.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This is a hands-on manufacturing position. While performing the duties of this role, employees may be required to:

  • Stand or sit for extended periods.

  • Regularly handle tools, equipment, materials, and machine controls.

  • Walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or perform similar movements as needed.

  • Lift up to 30 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance.

  • Work around moving mechanical equipment.

  • Work in an environment where moderate to high noise levels may be present.

  • Work around manufacturing materials, fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals associated with machining operations.

  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The role also requires sufficient close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, focusing ability, and color recognition to safely perform precision machining and inspection activities.
