$16.50/hr. and a Free YMCA Membership

Tuesdays 6:00pm-8:00pm & Some weekend hours available

Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Teen Engagement staff will run and assist to manage a fun and organized youth experience in esports, enrichment activities, and gym activities for youth 13-18 year of age. The Teen Engagement staff will assist to maintain a clean, safe and fun environment for the youth in program and actively engage with members. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Set up, break down and implement programming for the duration of the activities.

Actively engage the youth during activities and provide positive engagement for all attending.

Communicate and enforce rules and policies. Ensure organization and fair play during activities.

Keep accurate, detailed records of any necessary documentation as required.

Familiar with and carries out emergency procedures, building rules and regulations.

Maintain a well-presented, safe facility with a high level of responsiveness in regard to cleanliness and repair.

Attend all required meetings and training.

Maintain required certifications.

All other duties as assigned.



Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must have a genuine interest in working with children ages 13-18.

Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Must possess CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or have the ability within 60 days of employment.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to supervise children by sight and sound at all times.

Ability to move quickly to react to safety issues in the setting (i.e. climbing, aggressive behavior).

Ability to remain calm, objective and respectful in potentially stressful situations (i.e. crying upset child, upset parent, or upset staff).

Ability to move around the room to assist children and supervise children with activities, social interaction, physical and emotional needs.

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
