Job description

Position Summary
Liberty Lift Solutions is seeking a skilled, safety-focused Field Service Technician to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) systems in the field. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery while providing technical support to customers and maintaining compliance with company safety and operational standards.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and capable of working independently in demanding oilfield environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install, commission, remove, maintain, and troubleshoot Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) systems and related equipment.
  • Monitor, test, and diagnose ESP performance issues to optimize well production and maximize equipment run life.
  • Perform basic repairs, cable splicing, cable testing, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Conduct basic well production analysis and provide recommendations to support system performance.
  • Accurately complete service reports, field documentation, mileage logs, service records, and other required paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, customers, and other field personnel regarding operational status and performance.
  • Coordinate on-site activities with customers, engineers, supervisors, and team members.
  • Train and mentor new employees on ESP fundamentals, field operations, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain company-issued vehicles, tools, and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Promptly report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and equipment failures.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all Liberty Lift Solutions Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and operational policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of ESP field service experience preferred.
  • 3-4 years of experience in artificial lift systems or related oilfield operations is a plus.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, service manuals, and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic field reporting systems.
  • Basic computer skills required for operating testing and reporting equipment.

  • Support company safety goals and environmental stewardship initiatives.
  • Complete all required HSE training and certifications.
  • Promote a culture of safety by identifying and reporting hazards and participating in corrective actions when necessary.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, twist, and perform physical work for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to respond quickly and safely to changing field conditions and instructions.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Work Environment
Work is performed primarily at customer locations, oilfield sites, and other field environments, with occasional time spent in company facilities. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, moving mechanical equipment, and other oilfield-related environments.
This position may require extended hours, rotating schedules, weekend work, and overnight travel based on operational requirements.
