Help Build Oregon's Weatherization Workforce
The Oregon Training Institute (OTI), a program of Community Action Partnership of Oregon (CAPO), is seeking an experienced and passionate OTI Instructor to help train the next generation of weatherization and energy-efficiency professionals.
This position combines hands-on technical instruction with curriculum development, program support, and statewide collaboration. If you enjoy teaching others, sharing your industry expertise, and contributing to Oregon's clean energy workforce, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll do:
As an OTI Instructor, you'll deliver engaging classroom, virtual, and field-based instruction focused on residential energy efficiency, weatherization, and diagnostic HVAC technologies. Working closely with the Training Manager and Lead Instructor, you'll help ensure training programs remain current, effective, and aligned with industry standards.

This is a fully remote position that requires regular travel to support training delivery and program operations. The primary training location is the Oregon Training Institute (OTI) warehouse in Salem, Oregon, with additional travel throughout Oregon and occasional national travel for trainings, conferences, and industry events.
This position combines remote administrative work with classroom instruction, field-based training, and hands-on demonstrations of weatherization and energy efficiency techniques. The Instructor should be comfortable working in indoor and outdoor training environments and actively demonstrating installation methods, diagnostic testing, and the safe operation of industry tools and equipment. Duties routinely require walking, standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing ladders or stairs as appropriate, lifting and moving training materials and equipment, and performing the physical tasks necessary to effectively demonstrate weatherization practices and techniques.
