Job description

As a Childcare Team Member, you will report directly to the Elementary Director.


Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which includes: feeding, changing diapers (female staff only), escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, putting children down for naps, holding and sitting. Universal precautions should always be used while changing diapers, or cleaning of body parts.
  • Expected to be cheerfully interactive with children through worship, teaching, games/activities, and prayer.
  • Be polite, friendly and courteous to all children and parents or guardians.
  • Stay until the children are secured with the parent or guardian that dropped off the child.
  • In the event of an emergency, notify the parent via the communication system on the iPad and/or by cell phone. Also, notify the Elementary Director of an emergency.
  • Responsible for resetting the classroom and cleaning all toys, cribs, and changing tables before leaving. Used bed sheets will need to be placed in the dirty linen container and clean sheets are to be placed on the beds. Church staff or volunteers will be responsible for laundering the sheets. All toys that have had contact with saliva will require special attention. A sanitizing solution will be used in the nursery.
  • Report to the Elementary Director any issues that are hindering your duties or responsibilities.
  • Communicate in advance, by phone to the Elementary Director: 1.) Any planned absences with a two week notice when possible or 2.) any unplanned absences at least two hours prior to the shift.
  • In the event your availability needs to be changed you must notify the Childcare Director at least two weeks in advance. ***Please Note*** Shifts are not guaranteed if your availability changes.
  • Other tasks as required by the leadership team.

Job Requirements:

  • You must be able to stand for 4 hours at a time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
