Job description

Cargo Escort Agents can expect to earn approximately $440โ€“$760 gross per run, based on assignments lasting 16โ€“24 hours and applicable overtime rates. Start times vary, assignments may be offered on short notice, and dependable on-call availability is essential. Candidates must be comfortable with extended drives, working independently, and using mobile applications to submit time-stamped photos, updates, and reports.
NOTE: The advertised earnings are labeled as an estimate because California overtime is calculated based on the employer's established workday and workweek.

Job Summary:

Silhouette Security Group is seeking highly responsible and vigilant individuals to join our team as a Cargo Escort Agent. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and secure transit of valuable cargo, representing our client with professionalism and dedication.

Essential Functions:
  • Cargo Security: Maintain constant vigilance of the escorted trailer and surrounding environment, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Safety Assurance: Create and maintain a safe driving environment, regulating personal driving hours to prevent fatigue.
  • Communication: Maintain open and consistent communication with truck drivers and client Operations throughout the mission. Limit customer communication to answering direct calls, directing all other customer contact through client.
  • Threat Response: Immediately contact local and/or state law enforcement if a threat is suspected, then inform the truck driver(s) and client Operations. Do not engage with suspected threats.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all Silhouette Security and client guidelines regarding attire, behavior, and communication.
  • Reporting: Promptly inform client of any delays to call times, delays or stops during transit, and send all required time-stamped photos and email updates.
  • Preparedness: Arrive at the Shipper with a full tank of gas and all necessary equipment.
  • Escalation: Contact client Operations immediately for any critical incidents including, but not limited to:
    • Inability to locate or uncooperative driver(s) at the Shipper.
    • Unplanned stops or separation from the truck during transit.
    • Accidents, breakdowns, or medical emergencies involving the escort team or truck.
    • Suspicious activity or attempted pilferage/theft.
    • Receiver refusal of the truck at delivery.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Valid BSIS-issued Guard Card or ability to obtain necessary state/local security licenses
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess and maintain valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Prior military, security, or transportation experience preferred
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts on short notice (24-48 hours)
