GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Senior EIT 2 to work with the Power Generation Business Sector on primarily renewable energy projects and when needed other regional projects. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a team-oriented environment that will utilize their college education and past work experience to develop professionally into a well-rounded engineer with the ability to grow in today's environment. The candidate will perform both design and monitoring tasks under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer.

• Site Grading Plans
• Erosion and Sediment Control Plans
• Stormwater Management Plans
• Hydrologic and Hydraulic / Drainage Plans
• Utility Design and Relocation Plans
• Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans
• Geotechnical Investigations
• Permit Applications (earth disturbance permits, building permits, land development plans, high occupancy permits, etc.)
• Access Road Section Development
• Construction Drawings, Specifications, and Quality Control Plans
• Construction Cost Estimates
• Owner's Engineer Support During Construction
• Field Investigations
• Daily/Weekly Construction Inspections
• Earthwork Construction Quality Control
• Compaction Testing
• Concrete Testing
• ESC Inspections
• SWPPP Inspections
• Environmental Monitoring
• The candidate should have the desire and ability to travel to Project sites, as needed, primarily in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.

Minimum Years of Experience

• 6+

Education

• B.S. or M.S. Engineering

Certification/Licensure

• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer-in-training (EIT) or engineering-intern (EI) certification

Technical Responsibilities

• Performs moderate design tasks.
• Prepares portions of plans, specifications, and other project documents.
• Performs research and field investigation.

Project and Task Management

• Works as a part of a team and coordinates work with others.
• Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.

Management Responsibility

• Receives instruction on specific objectives.
• Receives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems and possible solutions.
• Receives a thorough review of completed work for the application of sound professional judgment.
• Receives mentorship from a licensed engineer typically in their specialty.

Communication Skills

• Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
• Interacts with other staff.
• Interacts with clients with close oversight.
• Interacts closely with Project Managers & various Department Managerial Staff, especially with client communications.
• Interacts with clients at regular project meetings.
