Senior NetSuite ERP Implementation Project Manager

Job description

The Senior NetSuite ERP Implementation Project Manager for a 6-month contract to assess, stabilize, and drive forward an active NetSuite implementation for a health supplement business.

Senior NetSuite ERP Implementation Project Manager will join an implementation already in progress, determine the true current state, identify risks and gaps, organize priorities, and create a practical roadmap for short-term stabilization, medium-term execution, and long-term ERP maturity.

The environment includes health supplements, sales operations, inventory, purchasing, item master data, fulfillment, finance, process controls, reporting, and related operational workflows.

This is not a generic project coordination role. The right contractor must understand enough NetSuite, ERP implementation, inventory/process flow, and business operations to challenge assumptions, organize decision-making, and drive execution.

Key Objectives

1. Current-State Assessment

The contractor will determine:

  • What has been completed.
  • What is partially complete.
  • What is blocked.
  • What has not started.
  • What decisions remain unresolved.
  • Where business requirements and NetSuite configuration do not align.
  • Whether current plans support a realistic go-live.

2. Short-Term Stabilization

Within the first 30 days, the contractor should establish:

  • Implementation health assessment.
  • RAID log: risks, actions, issues, and decisions.
  • Critical-path plan.
  • Vendor accountability structure.
  • Internal ownership model.
  • Executive status reporting.
  • 30/60/90-day recovery roadmap.

3. Medium-Term Execution

The contractor will drive implementation progress across:

  • Finance and accounting.
  • Sales order processing.
  • Inventory management.
  • Procurement and purchasing.
  • Item master governance.
  • Fulfillment and warehouse processes.
  • Reporting and dashboards.
  • Roles, permissions, and approval workflows.
  • Data migration.
  • Integrations.
  • User acceptance testing.
  • Cutover and go-live readiness.

4. Long-Term ERP Readiness

The contractor will help define:

  • Post-go-live support model.
  • Hypercare plan.
  • Enhancement backlog.
  • Process ownership.
  • Reporting roadmap.
  • Data governance.
  • Operational controls.
  • Long-term NetSuite support needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the assessment and stabilization of the NetSuite implementation.
  • Review project plans, SOWs, vendor deliverables, configuration status, open issues, testing status, data migration plans, and business requirements.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions with finance, sales, operations, inventory, procurement, warehouse, quality, customer service, IT, and leadership.
  • Translate business needs into clear NetSuite workstreams, owners, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Identify scope gaps, process gaps, configuration risks, reporting gaps, and operational readiness issues.
  • Manage implementation partner activities and hold vendors accountable for deliverables.
  • Build and maintain a realistic project plan.
  • Maintain issue, risk, decision, dependency, and change-control logs.
  • Coordinate UAT planning, test scripts, defect tracking, retesting, and business signoff.
  • Support data migration planning and validation.
  • Support cutover planning and go/no-go decision-making.
  • Provide concise executive-level status reporting.
  • Escalate risks early and clearly.
  • Help the company move from implementation uncertainty to a controlled execution path.

Relevant Business Processes

The contractor should be comfortable working across:

  • Lead/opportunity to quote/order.
  • Sales order to fulfillment.
  • Procure-to-pay.
  • Inventory receiving and adjustments.
  • Item setup and item master governance.
  • Lot/batch tracking where applicable.
  • Inventory costing and reconciliation.
  • Returns, credits, RMAs, and customer service workflows.
  • Financial close and reporting.
  • Operational reporting and dashboards.
  • Quality-sensitive or regulated product workflows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Business Administration.

  • 5+ years of ERP implementation project management experience.
  • 3+ years of NetSuite implementation experience.
  • Experience joining an implementation already in progress.
  • Strong understanding of NetSuite ERP business processes.
  • Experience with sales, inventory, purchasing, fulfillment, finance, reporting, and operational workflows.
  • Ability to assess unclear or incomplete project status and create an executable recovery plan.
  • Experience managing third-party implementation partners.
  • Strong executive communication skills.
  • Strong documentation and project governance discipline.
  • Experience with UAT, cutover, data migration, defect management, and go-live readiness.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • NetSuite certification.
  • PMP or similar project/program management certification.
  • Experience in supplements, CPG, food/beverage, manufacturing, distribution, or life sciences.
  • Experience with lot tracking, inventory controls, quality holds, production records, labeling, warehouse processes, or regulated product environments.
  • Experience with integrations involving ecommerce, EDI, 3PL, WMS, QMS, CRM, BI/reporting, or middleware platforms.
  • Familiarity with systems such as MasterControl, SPS Commerce, Celigo, Boomi, Shopify, Amazon, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
