Job Description The RAN Solutions Engineer serves as a technical strategist and architect for the evolution of Globe's Radio Access Network. This role is responsible for bridging the gap between cutting-edge global technologies and practical, cost-effective network deployment. The Engineer will spearhead feasibility studies for new solutions, ensuring they enhance customer experience while "future-proofing" the network. This role also acts as the guardian of engineering standards, crafting and maintaining comprehensive guidelines for new sites and expansion projects. By leveraging global market analysis and defining innovation-specific KPIs, the RAN Solutions Engineer ensures that Globe remains at the forefront of wireless connectivity, fostering strict alignment between internal vision and external stakeholder execution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive the development and feasibility study of New Solutions and Strategies from Huawei, Ericsson and other 3rd party vendors for possible adoption into the Radio Access Network, ensuring that all factors are considered including cost, customer experience, future proofing the network, etc.

  • Craft and Maintain Engineering guidelines for all RAN domains including New Sites, Expansion for Huawei (T1-T5) and Ericsson(T7-T8) and ensuring completeness and adoption by internal and external stakeholders

  • Introduce innovation-specific KPIs to measure the impact of new technologies and processes on the company's competitive positioning.

  • Evaluates cutting-edge technologies and solutions for Outdoor coverage, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with Globe's strategic vision for the Mobile service.

  • Conducts in-depth analysis of emerging use cases for Mobile and/or Wireless services in global markets, leveraging both existing and new technologies for Globe and any telco worldwide

  • Establish and enforce an Accountability Framework for guideline adoption, implementing mechanisms that track compliance and reward external stakeholders for error-free, efficient network integration

  • Lead the "Green RAN" initiative, auditing RAN hardware and new capabilities to dynamically adjust power consumption based on new designs and and product capabilities.

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to ensure compliance with safety and technical standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and information necessary for engineering projects.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in technology relevant to the field of engineering.
