Job Description

We are seeking Lead Associate Portfolio Management who will enable the North America business in portfolio management by analyzing new product opportunities from ideation through selection and supporting successful new product launches. The role will support pipeline optimization and prioritization decisions through analysis of market dynamics vis-a-vis internal project progress, draw insights, help craft strategies to address portfolio gaps, and provide direction for the long-term growth of the business.

This role will play a critical role in supporting NA portfolio strategy by identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing new product opportunities across the North America markets. The role will support portfolio expansion, pipeline optimization, launch readiness, and business development initiatives through market analysis, financial assessment, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management, Market Intelligence & Prioritization

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize product opportunities across the U.S. and Canada by monitoring market trends, competitive dynamics, new approvals, and portfolio fit.
  • Conduct market intelligence, forecasting, and business case analyses to support product selection, ROI assessments, and long-term portfolio growth strategies.
  • Track pipeline progress, development timelines, and business risks while providing insights to support portfolio prioritization and decision-making.
  • Assess internal development, in-licensing, and business development opportunities to optimize portfolio value and support future growth.

New Product Launch Process

  • Support launch planning by tracking the portfolio pipeline and maintaining a realistic three-year launch calendar.
  • Ensure market and commercial insights are reflected in launch planning requirements.
  • Partner with commercial product managers to consolidate business priorities and communicate critical asks to execution teams.
  • Monitor intellectual property, regulatory, and competitor dynamics that may impact launch timing or strategy.

Business Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Evaluate in-licensing, partnership, acquisition, and business development opportunities through market, portfolio, and financial analysis to support strategic growth decisions.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking, portfolio assessments, and financial modeling (NPV, IRR, ROI) to identify opportunities and provide leadership recommendations.
  • Partner with Commercial, R&D, Regulatory, IP, Supply Chain, Finance, and Business Development teams to drive portfolio decisions, launch readiness, and business priorities.
  • Translate business insights into actionable recommendations and facilitate cross-functional alignment to support portfolio and growth objectives.
Qualifications

Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced business qualification preferred

Minimum work experience: 8+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in Portfolio Management, Product/Pipeline Selection & Development, Marketing, Business Development, Strategic Business Planning, or related areas

Skills & attributes:

  • Strong understanding of portfolio management, product selection, and the pharmaceutical product development lifecycle.
  • Deep knowledge of the North America generics pharmaceutical markets, including growth drivers, competitive landscape, and industry regulations.
  • Knowledge of the generics regulatory landscape and its impact on product development, prioritization, and launch planning.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in forecasting, market analysis, business case development, and financial modeling (NPV, IRR, ROI).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience using IQVIA or similar pharmaceutical market intelligence platforms preferred.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, presentation, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
