Role Description:

This role supports the Equity Derivatives trading desk with a primary focus onStructured Products and Exotic Derivatives, including but not limited to auto callables, barrier options, variance/volatility swaps, digital/binary options, and structured financing transactions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Equity Options, Futures, Swaps, and complex path-dependent and multi-asset derivatives. The successful Product Controller will be highly attentive to detail and risk, demonstrate strong commercial awareness of exotic Greeks and model risk, and uphold the importance of a robust control environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily P&L Reporting & Analysis: Flash to Actual analysis, Front-to-Back reconciliations, detailed P&L attribution (including vega, correlation, skew, dividend, and higher-order Greek decomposition for exotic books), verification of manual adjustments, and Balance Sheet Attestation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Close interaction with the trading desk, Treasury, Middle Office/Ops, IT, Market Risk, Financial Reporting, Regulatory, and IPV teams to resolve booking, valuation, and financial resource usage-related issues — with particular focus on complex lifecycle events (barriers, autocall triggers, put financing transactions)
  • Process Improvement: Input into the development of tactical and strategic process improvement projects, including automation of exotic P&L explain workflows, as well as testing and implementation of end-state solutions
  • Funding & Financing: Understanding daily summary of funding charges, including day-over-day variance analysis and the impact of structured product collateral/margin dynamics.
  • Manual Adjustments: Understanding, challenge, and motivation to resolve all manual adjustments, including model reserves, Day 1 P&L, and valuation adjustments specific to illiquid exotics
  • Team Leadership: Managing junior team members both onshore and offshore; mentoring on exotic product knowledge and control best practices.
  • Deal Review & Structuring Support: Deal review analysis and return, as well as review of deal reviews performed by the offshore team
  • Controls & KRIs: Ensuring proper controls are in place as measured by KRI metrics, with specific attention to model risk, market data quality, and lifecycle event processing for exotic structures
  • Month-End Close: Closing of the firm's books and records, including required manual journal entries and Balance Sheet substantiation; reconciliation of monthly FO P&L to General Ledger; completion of various financial reporting schedules; reserve and Day 1 P&L amortization reviews

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • At least 8–10 yearsof Equities-focused Product Control experience, with aminimum of 4–5 yearscoveringStructured Products and/or Exotic Derivatives(autocallables, barriers, variance swaps, correlation products, bespoke payoffs)
  • Strong understanding of exotic derivative pricing models, Greeks (including cross-Greeks for multi-asset products), and associated model risk
  • Familiarity with lifecycle events unique to structured/exotic products (barrier breaches, autocall observations, early termination, dividend adjustments)
  • BS/BA in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a quantitative discipline;CFA, CPA, or FRM designation preferred
  • Proven ability to manage and develop junior staff in a global team structure
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with strong prioritization skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex product P&L drivers to senior stakeholders
  • Team player, proactive, self-starter who can operate dynamically while maintaining rigorous attention to detail
