Job Summaryย 

Theย Senior Planner, Climate Adaptation and Resilienceย roleย is responsible forย leadingย projectsย that include comprehensive assessments, analyses, development and implementation of strategies and implementation plans for ourย clientsโ€™ย water-relatedย businesses.ย The role will support ongoing Climate Readiness andย OneWaterย plansย with emphasis inย the Pacific Area and broaderย Western Business Unit, as well as supporting company-wideย opportunities that advance BCโ€™s Climate Strategy.ย Project elements can include strategicย andย adaptiveย planning, organizational development,ย long-term andย scenario planning,ย policy and procedure development, business process mapping,ย evaluation,ย and development, and change management effortsย with an emphasis on stakeholder engagement and facilitation.ย This role focusesย onย leadingย overall project deliveryย teams,ย solving complex problems, and providing guidance and training to less experienced colleagues, with minimal direct supervision and limited oversight from management. The position plays a vital role inย contributing to the advancement ofย BCโ€™s Climate Strategy,ย Business Consulting, andย Planning business throughย business development pursuits, industryย groupsย and conference involvement, andย contributions to standardsย and best practice contentย development. This roleย leadsย pursuits andย projects of strategic importance, and balancesย risk and opportunity inย client businessย planย decision-making processes.ย 

Responsibilitiesย ย ย 

  • Leadย targeted and/or comprehensive business assessments and development ofย implementation strategies and plans for our clients to enhance their operations and efficiency.ย 
  • Developย client strategic plans and decision-making processes directly tied to the successful achievement of overall organizational and functional area goals.ย 
  • Leadย organizational development and management services for clients to achieve organizational excellence.ย 
  • Leadย development and implementation of stakeholder engagement and communications plans including communication piece development.ย 
  • Leadย facilitation ofย in-person and/or virtual stakeholder workshops across a diverse array ofย project,ย program, or other engagement needs to elicit input, foster alignment, and achieve desired engagement outcomes.ย 
  • Assistย withย supporting Client Service Managers and core Client Service Teams in defining client organizational goals and drafting client business plans aligned with these goals.ย ย 
  • Flexibility to adapt and executeย variousย additionalย assignments based on evolving needs.ย

  • Typically certified in the Subject Matter Specialist (SMS)ย Framework, and progressingย through the SMS competencies.ย [once onboarded]ย 

Preferredย Experienceย 

  • Experience leading adaptive,ย adaptation, and or resilienceย planning effortsย or initiativesย forย large,ย public water utilitiesย 
  • Experienceย evaluating climate impacts,ย performing vulnerability assessments, and incorporating adaptation measures into planning efforts and recommendationsย 
  • Engagementย or leadershipย in a climate-related industryย groupย 

Educationย 

  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience in business administration, management,ย communicationsย or a related field.ย 

Salary Range:ย Theย anticipatedย starting payย range for this position is based on the employeeโ€™s primary work location and mayย beย more or lessย dependingย upon skills, experience,ย and education.ย  These ranges may be modified in the future.ย ย ย 

Location A: $129,000 - $177,000
Location B: $142,000 - $194,000
Location C: $155,000 - $212,000ย
