Job description

Job Title: Assembly Mechanic & Field Service Technician

Location: Clinton, CT

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assembly & Field Service Technician to join our team in the pharmaceutical packaging industry. This role is responsible for the assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of high-performance packaging equipment both in-house and at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble pharmaceutical packaging machinery to specification
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic systems
  • Rebuild and modify existing equipment as needed
  • Perform field service, including installation, startup, and repair at customer sites
  • Travel domestically and internationally on short notice
  • Work overtime and weekends as required to support customer needs
  • Assist with equipment testing, validation, and final checkout
  • Provide phone and on-site technical support and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate closely with design and electrical engineering teams
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Follow all company and regulatory safety standards
  • Coordinate required parts for repairs with customers and internal teams
  • Perform repairs in sterile environments using aseptic techniques
  • Complete detailed service reports and recommend spare parts and corrective actions
  • Support the customer service department as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical and pneumatic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and think critically in the field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience with SolidWorks or 2D/3D CAD is a plus
  • Engineering experience is a plus

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel frequently, including international travel
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing as required for customer sites
  • Comfortable working in sterile/cleanroom environments

Note: Pay is based on experience and will provide an additional $3 per hour while traveling.
