Equipment Operator

Key Information:

  • Hours: Based on a 44-hour work week; however, overtime is required during the busy season.
  • Must be willing to working evenings and weekends when needed.
  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience.
  • Health benefits, pension plan, RRSP matching, vacation pay offered.

Job Description:

  • Operate heavy equipment, clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, secure special attachments to equipment.
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment, perform minor repairs to equipment.
  • Execute high volume production.
  • Fine grading and finishing.
  • When required, assist other operators, labourers, and trades.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks for equipment.

Experience and Certification Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator required.
  • CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, Ground Disturbance Level 2 are required.
  • You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions and work positively within a team to achieve a common goal.
  • A reliable means of transportation is required.
  • A driver's abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.
  • Proficient English language skills required.

Education: Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
