Job description

Overview

The Department of Clinical Sciences at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a Clinical Track position as Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor or Professor of Practice in Equine Ambulatory. The selected individual will provide independent primary and emergency clinical care and case management, participate in teaching and service within the Equine Section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, deliver didactic lectures in the professional curriculum, and participate in graduate student and intern training programs.

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
  • Eligibility for veterinary licensure in Alabama and Georgia at the commencement of employment.
  • Minimum of three years of equine practice experience.
  • Must be able to meet U.S. work authorization requirements and remain eligible for the duration of employment.
  • Board certification or board‑eligible status in an appropriate specialty (Theriogenology, Large Animal Internal Medicine, Large Animal Surgery, Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, or Equine Practice) is desired but not required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide independent, primary and emergency case care within the Equine Ambulatory Service.
  • Share after‑hours emergency duty as required.
  • Conduct teaching activities primarily in a clinical field setting, with laboratory and didactic teaching as appropriate.
  • Allocate effort among clinical duties, teaching, research, outreach, and service in accordance with qualifications and institutional needs.
