Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring at least 2 years of cardiovascular OR experience and independent scrubbing/circulating skills for cardiac surgery.
Job Details
• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center,
• Schedule consists of 2x12-hour and 2x8-hour shifts per week, totaling 40 hours,
• Shift times include 7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 10:45 AM-7:15 PM,
• Average patient ratio of 1:2,
• Two 24-hour weekend call shifts required per schedule,
• On-call requirement of 2 calls per Monday-Friday week (either 7 PM-11 PM or 7 PM-7 AM), with 1 day per week available to stay late,
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs,
• Uses Epic charting system,
• Scrubs provided,
Job Requirements
• Active CT or Compact RN license required prior to start date (pending license applications accepted),
• Current BLS certification required, ACLS preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required (1.5 years considered for candidates with Level I trauma or travel experience),
• Must be able to scrub cardiac surgery independently and circulate,
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures such as CABG, Aortic Aneurysm repair, Mitral valve replacement, IABP, Femoral Cannulation, and TAVR,
• Level I Trauma Center experience at a large facility required,
• 1 professional reference required,
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted,
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious/medical exemptions only,
Additional Information
• Independently scrub and circulate for a variety of complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures,
• Work within a Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center environment with 1000+ beds,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Local candidates are not accepted unless residing outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital,
• Previous perm staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler,
• Requests for RTO greater than 7 days require additional approval,
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
