Job description

In Emerg Dept Registration at Main Campus Children's of Alabama
Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Evening Shift, M-F; Every other Weekend.
Summary:
The Emergency Department Patient Access Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and families arriving at the emergency department. This position is responsible for accurately collecting and verifying patient identity, demographics and insurance information during bedside registration, ensuring that all required procedures are followed for billing and admissions. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Other information:
Experience/knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology. Preference knowledge/experience with Epic system, including at least one year of posting cash, credit, or check payments through Epic. Experience with patient registration applications is also preferred. Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently are essential.
