Emergency Medicine, Informatics Physician M68202
VCU Health - Richmond, VA

Department: Emergency Medicine

Lead clinical informatics initiatives within the Emergency Medicine department
Collaborate with IT teams to optimize electronic health record systems and clinical decision support tools
Analyze clinical data to improve patient care workflows and safety outcomes
Provide clinical expertise for technology implementation and system upgrades
Train and support clinical staff on informatics tools and best practices
Conduct research in emergency medicine informatics and participate in scholarly activities
Serve as liaison between clinical teams and technology departments
Develop and maintain clinical protocols integrated with digital systems

Required Qualifications:

MD degree with residency training in Emergency Medicine
Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine
Active medical license eligible for Virginia licensure
Clinical informatics fellowship training or equivalent experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:

Board certification in Clinical Informatics
Experience with Epic or similar EHR systems
Research experience in healthcare informatics
