Endocrinologist – Obesity & Metabolic Medicine

Location: Southfield, MI (On-Site) Employment Type: Full-Time

Lead the Future of Endocrine & Obesity Care at EPIC Health

We are seeking a Board-Certified Endocrinologist with experience in obesity medicine or obesity taxonomy who is ready to bring innovation, empathy, and excellence to the front lines of metabolic health.

What You'll Do

Clinical Care & Leadership

  • Provide compassionate, individualized care for patients with obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, thyroid disorders, PCOS, and other endocrine conditions.
  • Manage comprehensive obesity and weight-loss programs using both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic strategies.
  • Oversee treatment plans including GLP-1s, insulin management, hormone therapy, and lifestyle interventions.
  • Perform advanced endocrine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including:
    • Thyroid Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy
    • Thyroid Ultrasound
    • Continuous Glucose Monitoring
    • Insulin Pump Initiation and Management
    • Bone Density Testing
    • Dynamic Endocrine Testing (e.g., ACTH stimulation, dexamethasone suppression, water deprivation tests)
    • Ultrasound-Guided Ethanol Ablation of thyroid nodules/cysts
    • Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) for thyroid nodules
    • Advanced Imaging: interpretation and collaboration in CT, MRI, PET scans, and sestamibi scans for endocrine tumor evaluation
    • Venous Sampling for detailed hormone analysis from specific glands
  • Serve as the clinical expert in endocrine disorders impacting metabolic health.
  • Consult on complex cases in partnership with primary care and specialty providers across EPIC Health's network.

Program Development & Innovation

  • Play a central role in scaling EPIC Health's integrated Endocrinology & Obesity Medicine Program.
  • Implement and refine protocols for obesity screening, chronic disease risk assessment, and long-term patient monitoring.
  • Drive outcomes-based care, including adherence to quality and value-based measures.

Patient & Provider Education

  • Educate patients and families on the link between endocrine health, weight management, and long-term wellness.
  • Train and mentor providers and staff on best practices in endocrinology and obesity medicine.

Care Collaboration

  • Partner with behavioral health, nutrition, and fitness professionals to design holistic, patient-centered care plans.
  • Review labs, imaging, and outcomes with the multidisciplinary team, adjusting treatment as needed.
What You Bring

Education & Licensure

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Board Certification in Endocrinology (required)
  • Obesity Medicine experience or Obesity Medicine taxonomy strongly preferred
  • Active and unrestricted Michigan medical license
  • Eligible and in good standing with Medicare and Medicaid

Experience

  • Preferred 2 years of post-residency experience managing patients with endocrine and/or metabolic disorders
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced endocrine procedures (see above)
  • Familiarity with value-based care and integrated, multidisciplinary delivery models
