Job Summary

The Coordinator of Volunteer Services coordinates and implements volunteer programs. This includes recruiting, orienting, and scheduling volunteers.

Essential Functions of the Role
  • Consults with management, administrators and staff to regulate organization needs for various volunteer services.
  • Coordinates and executes volunteer recruitment activities in support of specified program priorities.
  • Schedules and facilitates volunteer meetings and provides special instructions and orientation for volunteers.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with community managers, community-based organizations and corporate sponsors to support the volunteer services program.
  • Serves as liaison between administration, staff and volunteers. Coordinates quarterly volunteer recognition.
  • Maintains a database of volunteers and time logs of volunteer activities in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares and provides post-activity evaluation data, as appropriate; prepares reports and maintains files and documentation.
Key Success Factors
  • Experience in Epic preferred.
  • Experience working in Hospice and/or Palliative Care settings preferred.
  • Position requires travel in the community. 
  • Knowledge of volunteer programs.
  • Proven verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Proven organizational and presentation skills.
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and special events.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain written reports.
