Energy Marshall (Electrical LOTO Coordinator)

Des Moines, IA • On-site

Full-time

Posted 22 days ago

Job description

EPI Power is hiring experienced electrical professionals for an Energy Marshall (Electrical LOTO Coordinator) role on large-scale, mission-critical data center projects across multiple sites: West Des Moines, Iowa | Cedar Rapids, Iowa | Boydton, Virginia. This role is built for experienced electrical professionals with 5+ years in the field and the ability to read one-line diagrams.

No prior Energy Marshall experience required. This position is open to journeyman-level electricians with solid field experience who are ready to serve as the site authority for electrical energy control — overseeing all LOTO, energy isolation, and energization procedures on active data center construction sites.

What You'll Do

  • Own and enforce all electrical LOTO and energy isolation on site
  • Review Energy Isolation Plans, Energization Plans, JHAs, and electrical permits before work starts
  • Audit and monitor electrical energy control during construction and commissioning phases
  • Coordinate safe testing, switching, and operation of switchgear, UPS, generators, and MEP systems
  • Serve as the single point of authority for all electrical energy control decisions
  • Train crews on LOTO procedures, energy isolation, and arc flash awareness
  • Ensure full compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA, and client-specific requirements
  • Communicate directly with project leadership, safety teams, GCs, and client reps

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of electrical field experience — commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction (data center experience a plus)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams and construction drawings
  • Solid working knowledge of electrical systems and electrical safety principles
  • Experience around switchgear, UPS systems, generators, or battery systems preferred (not required)
  • Strong communicator with a safety-first mindset — you're not afraid to stop work
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting
  • Must have reliable transportation to the project site
  • Must be willing to work scheduled overtime and extended shifts as required by the project

Why EPI Power

  • Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits package
  • Career growth — move into senior safety, commissioning, or project leadership roles
  • Work on high-profile, large-scale data center builds
  • Safety-driven, team-focused culture that respects the craft
  • Exposure to advanced electrical systems and cutting-edge technology

This is a field-based, traveling position. Openings available at the following project sites:

  • West Des Moines, Iowa
  • Cedar Rapids, Iowa
  • Boydton, Virginia

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position at this time.
