Leasing Agent Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, ADA,
  • Fair Credit Reporting Act and all other Federal, State, and Local laws pertaining to Residential Housing.
  • Fully implement and enforce all policies and procedures as outlined in the J.H.W. Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Recording and updating details of prospective and existing landlords and tenants into computer database swiftly.
  • Examining properties and informing maintenance staff of issues.
  • Advertising available properties and conducting property tours as part of marketing activities.
  • Screening prospective tenants to ensure they meet eligibility requirements.
  • Completing lease applications and assisting with the verification of application information.
  • Informing prospective tenants of results.
  • Inspecting properties when tenants take occupation and vacate.
  • Liaising with tenants to provide information and address their complaints and concerns.
  • Maintaining and storing documentation effectively.
  • Accepting rent payments, security deposits, and other applicable fees.
Requirements:

Education, Knowledge, Skills

  • High school degree minimum
  • Prior experience in property management or in a related industry preferred.
  • SC Property Manager License, CAM®, ARM® designation preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills providing for effective communication with residents, employees, peers, vendors, owners, etc., and assisting operations.
  • Computer software experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Management
  • Basic understanding of Landlord/Tenant laws and application, familiarity with the state-specific
  • Lease and Addendums, Fair Housing/ADA regulations and application, OSHA & EPA requirements for property management industry.
