Laundry & Environmental Services Technician
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) | Glendive, MT | Schedule: M, Tu, F, Sat, Sun 6:30AM - 3:00PM | Pay Starting at $15.07
Are you someone who takes pride in keeping environments clean, safe, and welcoming? Glendive Medical Center is seeking a Laundry & Environmental Services Technician to join our team. In this cross-trained role, you'll support both our Laundry and Environmental Services departments, helping ensure a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for patients, residents, visitors, and employees.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable individual who enjoys staying active, working as part of a team, and making a direct impact on patient care behind the scenes.
What You'll Do
Laundry Services Responsibilities
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute hospital linens and personal clothing.
  • Operate washers, dryers, folding machines, and other laundry equipment.
  • Deliver clean linens and clothing throughout the facility.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of laundry supplies and chemicals.
  • Ensure laundry equipment remains in proper working condition and report concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary laundry environment.
  • Assist with training and supporting new team members.
  • Help order linens and departmental supplies.
  • Follow all safety regulations, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies.
Environmental Services Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, resident rooms, bathrooms, waiting areas, offices, hallways, conference rooms, and common areas.
  • Disinfect high-touch surfaces to help prevent the spread of infection.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain floors, carpets, and rugs.
  • Clean and polish furniture, glass surfaces, stainless steel, and fixtures.
  • Replenish supplies throughout assigned areas.
  • Remove trash and biohazard waste using appropriate PPE and safety procedures.
  • Make beds and replace linens as needed.
  • Clean GMC-owned apartments when assigned.
  • Complete required documentation and attend departmental meetings and training.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping, environmental services, laundry, or related experience preferred, but not required.
  • On-the-job training provided.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and perform basic math calculations.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds when handling soiled linen.
  • Ability to work in a physically active environment.
