Job Summary
The Lecturer/Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling, Rehabilitation and Interpreter Training position in the College of Education is primarily responsible for teaching specialized graduate courses in clinical mental health counseling and other counseling specialties; pursuing a scholarship and research agenda; service on committees at all levels; involvement in service to the community; advising graduate students; and supervising Practicum and Internship students.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program by the date of appointment.
2. Professional identity as a counselor demonstrated through academic preparation, professional experience, and engagement in the counseling profession.
3. Eligibility for counselor licensure in Alabama (e.g., LPC or equivalent).
4. Academic preparation and/or professional experience in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a closely related counseling specialty.
5. Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor graduate counseling students in an online learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Current professional counselor licensure (LPC or equivalent).
2. Experience teaching in a CACREP-accredited counselor education program.
3. Experience supervising practicum and internship students consistent with CACREP standards.
4. Evidence of scholarship, research, grant activity, presentations, or publications in counseling or counselor education (required for tenure-track consideration).
5. Experience with online instruction, student retention initiatives, program assessment, and accreditation processes.
