The Test Technician will perform a variety of technical tasks in support of engineering, quality control, production, calibration, laboratories and maintenance environments. The technician will work under the guidance of a cell lead to tests, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and install a wide variety of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical, computer, laboratory and scientific systems and/or equipment. This role will be expected to work independently, taking the initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with team members as needed.
What You Will Do:
- This position requires lifting, walking, and could involve stair/ladder climbing at the test range(s)
- Support processes, engineering, quality control, calibration, and maintenance tasks within laboratory and production/test environments.
- Perform tests using electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and computer systems, following established procedures and protocols.
- Observe, analyze, and report test data accurately, supporting more senior technicians and engineers.
- Utilize engineering and scientific drawings, manuals, and documentation to perform tasks, ensuring compliance with procedures.
- Check work for correctness and adherence to guidelines, with support from more experienced team members.
- Troubleshoot analog. digital electronic and RF (Radio Frequency) circuits, isolating problems between test environments and units under test; escalating complex issues as needed.
- Select appropriate test equipment and configure it based on detailed test procedures, under supervision.
- Communicate technical issues by generating clear and detailed failure entries that align with test procedure requirements.
- Interpret test data, such as plots, graphs, and tabulated parameters, to assess pass/fail conditions and determine when further analysis is necessary.
- Continuously improve skills through on-the-job training and mentorship from senior technicians.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior technicians, guiding them in developing their technical skills, troubleshooting techniques, and independent problem-solving abilities.
- Physical ability to lift equipment and work in various environments, at least 15 lbs.
- This will be a 3rd shift, onsite role in our Forest, MS facility.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience with electronic circuits and components
  • Experience with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes)

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Familiarity with Radio Frequency equipment such as radios, radar and Electronic Warfare systems (preferred but not required)
  • Data entry experience with and industry ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) such as PRISM, Oracle E-Business, Microsoft Dynamics 365 etc

The salary range for this role is 54,000 USD - 102,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
