Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project schedules for various plant facilities and utilities.
  • Apply the Building Management System (BMS) to track and report on plant environmental conditions.
  • Generate and analyze trend reports from monitoring systems such as BMS.
  • Implement improvement projects passionate about energy conservation, electricity, HVAC, process compressed air, steam, potable water, chilled water, pest control, and water for injection (WFI).
  • Lead project teams and personnel to achieve project and area objectives successfully.
  • Manage capital projects, ensuring schedules are maintained and budgets are adhered to.
  • Suggest and develop energy-saving ideas and facility improvements.
  • Interpret, modify, and update building prints and utility drawings.
  • Apply business systems like work order systems, change control, validations, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Employ cause mapping techniques for effective problem-solving.
  • Program utility controls and monitoring systems using industrial processors (Allen-Bradley) and SCADA systems.
  • Facilitate maintenance training for facility employees, covering safety, cGMPs, job skills, and JIBs.
  • Ensure work orders and PMs are performed efficiently and reported accurately.
  • Analyze, propose, and implement long-term solutions to existing and recurring problems.
  • Inspect, monitor, and maintain facility and equipment compliance with cGMP standards, ensuring constant audit readiness.
  • Assist in procuring and installing new equipment.
  • Support environmental, health, and safety programs, as well as other plant initiatives, such as VIP, TPM, 6-S, and energy teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of engineering experience, preferably in FDA manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to interface well with personnel of all levels.
  • Ability to operate and support a collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills applying cause mapping.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize various tasks in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret scientific and statistical data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Preferred experience in Lean Manufacturing and 6s.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate in a controlled setting that demands special gowning and adherence to gowning protocols.
  • Flexibility to work or be assigned to different shifts as needed and work overtime when required.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend/stoop, reach above the shoulder, and maneuver around tight spaces.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for long periods.
  • Preferred working knowledge of facility utilities and energy conservation.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000-100,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than that of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
