Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. This role emphasizes relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory requirements. The position supports acute care departments including Medical, Surgical, Emergency, Intensive Care, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab units.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term objectives.
  • Apply new knowledge and skills gained from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving measures.
  • Make informed patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
  • Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
  • Communicate proactively with patients and healthcare teams to manage expectations and ensure a positive experience.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise, appropriately using electronic devices, and supporting healthcare students.
  • Prioritize safety for patients, guests, staff, and self by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.
  • Engage in professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.
  • Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and providing mentorship and constructive feedback.
Education and Experience:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
  • Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.
Licensure and Certifications:
  • Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

Work Shift: Night shift (3rd shift), full-time, 36 hours per week.
