What you'll do:
  • Receive sample request with sample parameters from the Waste classification Supervisor.
  • Catch representative samples, label and coordinate courier pick-up.
  • Correctly fill out and file chain of custody forms from sample events.
  • Have one of the GFL/Sprint Coordinators Second Set the COC.
  • Steward Sample Storage Building.
  • Logs lab samples into Log book and EXCEL spreadsheet. Steward all sample files for Baytown Complex.
  • Update sample information in Cority.
  • Escort vehicles inside plant when needed.
  • Back-up for trash routes, Baytown Ramp and 90 Day Warehouse.
  • Complete annual training on all applicable EOPs and SEPS as listed in CW-EOP-503.
  • Responsible for spill response/sampling documentation.
  • Maintain training on all applicable EOPs and Site Procedures, and JLAs.
  • Meet all LPS training and requirements.
  • Assist others when needed.
  • Inspect work truck daily.
  • Follow and support and engage in PSMS site wide safety program
What's required:
  • Minimum 2 years experience in waste or sample fields

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and industrial environments.

  • Ability to lift, move, and handle containers and materials safely.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

  • Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators and protective clothing.

  • HAZWOPER, RCRA, DOT, First Aid/CPR, H2S, or similar industry training is a plus.

  • Must be able to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and elevated work areas when required.

  • Demonstrated initiative, reliability, and strong work ethic.
