About the Role

Green Star and Wright Environmental is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager, preferably with Professional Geoscientist (PG) licensure to lead complex environmental compliance, investigation, and remediation projects and support strategic company growth. This position requires strong leadership and staff mentoring abilities, excellence in technical capability as well as client, regulatory agency, and contractor/vendor communication skills, and proven project management experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor junior staff in field methodologies, documentation, proposal writing, and technical reporting,
• Lead and manage environmental projects largely centered around Underground Petroleum Storage Tank compliance, investigations, and closures for transportation sector and other clients; projects also may include but are not limited to site assessments, VCP closures, due diligence for commercial clients, SPCC Plans, SWP3 Plans, NPDES permitting, compliance monitoring and reporting, and RCRA waste management,
• Oversee and manage field programs: spill response management, excavation, tank removal, drilling oversight, soil/groundwater sampling, sub slab/indoor air/soil vapor sampling, remediation (typically PSH/NAPL recovery) system installation, in situ remedial injections, and mobile water treatment services,
• Promote and enforce safety in the workplace and implement company safety policy and procedures,
• Prepare and review proposals, cost to closure estimates, technical reports, regulatory submittals, corrective action plans, SPCC and SWP3 plans, and NPDES permit applications, and general permit notices of intent (NOI),
• Manage budgets, schedules, workloads, and deliverables for multiple concurrent projects along with our other project management staff,
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies (TCEQ, OCC, locally and agencies governing nationwide project jurisdictions),
• Support marketing and business development initiatives, and
• Travel as needed to project sites locally and nationwide.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Professional Geoscientist (PG) – current in Texas or ability to obtain by reciprocity
• 8+ years environmental consulting experience, 2 to 4+ years project management experience
• Strong background in hydrogeology, remediation, and regulatory compliance
• Demonstrated success managing multi‑site and multi‑phase environmental projects
• Excellent communication and client management skills
• Prior experience mentoring junior staff
• OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER and 8-hr refreshers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with petroleum storage tank compliance (UST/AST)
• TCEQ LPST CAPM certification
• Familiarity with Texas and/or Oklahoma agencies and programs: OCC, ODEQ, TCEQ, and TRRP or equivalent state level programs
• Familiarity with NPDES
• Ability or willingness to use AI to increase efficiency
• Prior project management for industrial, commercial, or transportation/energy clients
• Business development experience

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary based on experience ($80,000 - $115,000+)

Lake Dallas, TX office. This is not a remote or hybrid position

Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
