At Phasor, we're focused on the big picture and the small details.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Quanta Services, we provide engineering and design services across transmission & distribution, substations, protection & control, geomatics, civil & structural design, telecommunications, panel fabrication, and the testing and commissioning of medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure.

Within our Geomatics division, we deliver the spatial services required to build, maintain, map, and monitor electrical infrastructure. Focused on power infrastructure projects, our team applies advanced geomatics technology and specialized expertise to support large transmission line builds, renewable energy projects, remote inspections, and other critical infrastructure across Canada and the United States.

Be part of a team that delivers projects from conceptual engineering and detailed design through construction support, commissioning, and startup. Built on technical excellence, collaboration, and a commitment to safety and quality, we take on complex challenges together.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our Geomatics team.

The Geomatics division supports utility, industrial, and infrastructure projects by providing the spatial data required to plan, build, maintain, and monitor critical electrical infrastructure across North America.

In this role, you will lead field survey crews supporting large-scale transmission, distribution, and utility construction projects using advanced surveying technology and equipment.

If you enjoy leading teams in the field, working with innovative technology, and contributing to complex infrastructure projects, this role offers meaningful work, continuous learning, and long-term career growth.

This is a field-based position with travel throughout Canada and the United States on a 20 days on, 10 days off rotation. Travel, transportation, and accommodations are provided by Phasor.

What You'll Do
  • Perform daily field survey activities, including obtaining survey measurements and staking for infrastructure construction
  • Coordinate daily field activities while supervising, mentoring, and training survey assistants
  • Communicate effectively with Field Leads, Project Managers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Client Field Representatives
  • Interpret design drawings, field data, field sketches, and base maps
  • Operate and maintain assigned survey equipment, ATVs/UTVs/Argos, tools, and materials
  • Travel to project sites throughout Canada and the United States as required
  • Actively promote Phasor's Health, Safety, and Environmental Program
  • Support large-scale utility, industrial, and infrastructure construction projects
  • Ensure field work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently
What We're Looking For
  • Technical Diploma in Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related discipline is preferred
  • Previous survey experience in engineering, construction, or industrial surveys
  • Experience leading or coordinating field survey crews
  • Experience interpreting design drawings, field data, field sketches, and base maps
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's licence with a clean driving abstract
  • Ability to travel and work a 20 days on, 10 days off rotation

Candidates must be legally authorized to work for any employer in Canada. Background checks and Drug & Alcohol testing will be required as part of employment, and must have a valid driver's licence with a clean abstract.
