Full Time Professional Houston, TX, US

The Operations Manager โ€“ Real Estate Operations & Accounting is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational and financial processes that support the organizationโ€™s real estate portfolio. This role serves as a key member of the Finance team, ensuring operational efficiency, financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination between accounting, property operations, and leadership. The ideal candidate combines strong operational management skills with a solid background in real estate accounting and financial reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities Program / Operational Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operational processes supporting the agency and PMC portfolio.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency.

  • Lead the partnership with the company agreement with Wise and Yardi
  • Maintain departmental reporting for Wise and Yard
  • Schedule and manage the month end close for the department.
  • Develop and coordinate departmental training in Accounting and Asset Management for internal controls and program reporting.
  • Develop financial tools and resources for all budget tracking.
  • Lead and maintain the agency budget and prepare for board presentation each month.
  • Lead and maintain the property management budget.
  • Manage all financial reports for the agency.
  • Manage the property and agency insurance portfolio.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency.
Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and operational processes.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax professionals, and external consultants as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations affecting real estate operations.

  • Knowledge of lease accounting, CAM reconciliations, tenant billing, and property management accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ERP and property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI Software, or RealPage) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
