WHAT TO EXPECT
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our Americas team. Located in our Lithonia, GA (Atlanta Metro), you will be a Regional Health, Safety & Environmental Manager.
The Regional HSE Manager leads proactive risk reduction initiatives and ensures alignment with regional and corporate HSE standards, policies, and enterprise-wide programs. In addition to supporting the Lithonia site, this role is responsible for HSE compliance, standardization, and oversight across Gate's multi-site network of high-volume distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada, driving standardized HSE programs, audits, training, and regulatory compliance within fast-paced logistics and warehouse environments.
This position partners closely with sites leadership, operations, and HR to drive continuous improvement initiatives that promote safe, efficient, and compliant warehouse operations.
Key responsibilities (to name a few):
  • Lead site-level Health, Safety, and Environmental programs in alignment with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Regional HSE to implement enterprise risk-reduction strategies and ensure consistent application of standards across all U.S. and Canadian distribution centers.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable local, state, federal, and Canadian safety and environmental regulations for distribution center operations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, including audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments related to warehouse operations, powered industrial trucks, dock activities, material handling, and facility systems.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards associated with receiving, picking, packing, storage, and material-handling equipment.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning to prevent recurrence across all supported DCs.
  • Oversee OSHA and environmental reporting, recordkeeping, and documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees, leaders, and contractors across all shifts and distribution sites.
  • Lead and support site safety committees and influence leadership to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Partner with Operations and HR on workers' compensation, injury management, and return-to-work programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incidents, improve compliance, and enhance overall HSE performance.
  • Monitor environmental metrics (air, waste, water, spill response, stormwater, etc.) to ensure performance aligns with Corporate Sustainability targets and risk management expectations.
  • Manage contractor safety programs and ensure compliance with site safety standards.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree required; Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive HSE experience supporting distribution center or warehouse operations.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including domestic and international travel.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA 1910, EPA regulations, and applicable Canadian regulatory frameworks (e.g., CCOHS and provincial requirements).
  • Experience leading incident investigations, audits, and corrective action programs.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver HSE training in an operational environment.
  • Experience with ergonomics, material handling systems, powered industrial trucks, and emergency response procedures.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
