About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated attorney to join our legal team in Southern California. Orchid Law PC, is a California-based Civil Litigation Firm specializing in Class Actions, Environmental Law, Civil Rights, Labor & Employment, & Serious Injuries. We represent Plaintiffs in high profile high impact litigation against government agencies and large companies.

This position requires public speaking, court appearances, taking and defending depositions, high client interaction, settlement and union negotiations, legal research, and drafting of complaints and motions. We offer a flexible schedule and some opportunities to work remotely. However, occasional local travel will come up as we have cases across the state. We are looking for attorneys with a passion for advocating for social and environmental justice.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft and review legal documents, briefs, motions, and pleadings
  • Conduct legal research
  • Attend court hearings including trials
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Represent clients in arbitration and administrative hearings
  • Negotiate settlements, union contracts, and other contracts
  • Prepare press releases and plan press conferences
  • Attend union meetings, government agency meetings, and community town halls
  • Advocate on behalf of underserved populations
  • Collaborate with community organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies
  • Lobby elected officials on behalf of clients
  • Monitor and analyze legislation and regulatory changes affecting environmental and social justice
  • Provide legal counsel and education to clients and community stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the California State Bar
  • Experience in environmental law, civil rights, or public interest law preferred
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to social and environmental justice causes
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse communities
