Job description

EOG's Environmental Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing pro-active division-specific environmental programs to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations including spill prevention and response, air emission control and permitting, storm water control and permitting, wetlands and jurisdictional waters, waste management, community right-to-know, endangered species, and cultural resources. Promote environmental awareness at all levels of management and field operations. Oversee the preparation of all required air and storm water permit applications for complex oil and gas facilities and associated operations including gas plants, common delivery points, and crude bulk terminals. Advise production operations and facility engineers regarding air permitting requirements and obligations, emission control options, facility design, and compliance documentation. Develop facility response plans and coordinate required spill and crisis response training conduct and coordinate due diligence efforts including phase I and phase II environmental site assessments. Manage multiple on-going environmental projects including environmental consultants and contract environmental staff. Oversee remediation projects in environmentally sensitive areas. Assist with investigation of environmentally related landowner complaints. Investigate and report spills and other environmental incidents internally and externally as required by law. Monitor federal, state and local regulations and potential impacts to division operations. Attend industry trade group meetings and participate in industry regulatory development efforts. Coordinate with corporate environmental staff in development of S&E management system. Attend and participate in field safety meetings.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Geology or related technical field, Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of oil and gas related environmental experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge and sound judgment.
  • Broad knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively and collaborate with multiple departments within the division.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Train and mentor team members as needed.
  • Travel to field offices and well sites (30% field and 10% travel).

Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
