Job description

MWV Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our environmental remediation team. We are hiring entry-level through experienced Lead RRP, Lead Abatement, and Environmental Workers and Crew Leaders for projects throughout Detroit and Southeast Michigan.


Available Positions & Pay

Positions Starting Wage

RRP Helper / Entry-Level Worker $18–$20/hour

Experienced RRP Worker $20–$23/hour

RRP Worker + Lead Abatement Certification $22–$25/hour

Lead RRP Worker / Crew Lead $24–$28/hour

Experienced Lead/RRP Supervisor $27–$30/hour


Pay is based on experience, certifications, reliability, and ability to perform the position independently.

Prevailing-wage projects will be paid according to the applicable project requirements and worker classification.


Job Responsibilities

  • Perform lead-safe renovation, repair, demolition, and paint stabilization.
  • Set up containment and regulated work areas.
  • Install plastic sheeting and protect floors, windows, doors, and surrounding areas.
  • Perform scraping, component removal, selective demolition, surface preparation, and cleaning.
  • Operate HEPA vacuums and other environmental remediation equipment.
  • Properly bag, seal, and handle project debris.
  • Follow EPA RRP, OSHA/MIOSHA, and MWV safety requirements.
  • Wear required PPE and respiratory protection when applicable.
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites.
  • Follow supervisor instructions and complete assigned work efficiently.
  • Communicate professionally with residents, contractors, inspectors, and other project personnel.


Qualifications

Experience is preferred but we are willing to train dependable entry-level candidates.


Preferred qualifications include:

  • EPA RRP Certified Renovator
  • Michigan Lead Abatement Worker or Supervisor certification
  • Asbestos Worker or Supervisor Certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Hazwoper
  • Mold Remediation
  • Construction, demolition, painting, environmental remediation, or rehabilitation experience
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
